10 shows came in, only 5 of them came out the other side with another possible drop on the horizon. Yes, we’ve made it to around the halfway mark for the winter season, which means it’s time to check in with the titles that were still standing after their premiere episodes. Anime Taste Testing: Winter 2018
Another year, another anime season. For the most part, I don’t think it’s going to be an overly exciting one, but I’ve been wrong before despite my obviously impeccable taste. This time around I checked out 10 different premieres – and wonder of wonders, 6 of them have made the cut for at least a second episode. Find out below which titles made the cut and which have been consigned to the trash pile. Continue reading “Anime Taste Testing: Winter 2018”
5 Good Anime Over 60 Episodes
I’ve made no secret of the fact that, more often than not, I dislike long anime shows. No doubt I’ve grown far pickier since I first started watching (back when I was happy to sit through some outright bad shows just because they were better than nothing at all). Below are what I still consider now to be the absolute best of these. Continue reading “5 Good Anime Over 60 Episodes”
Unsung Heroes: Great Parental Figures in Anime

Other parents have more of a presence but are abusive, mentally unstable, or at the very least serious assholes – your Kiryuin Ragyos, Shou Tuckers, and Ikari Gendos of the anime universe. Good Family-Friendly Anime
No doubt there are a few similar articles scattered about the net, but this one is written with a couple of specific things in mind – and simply listing a bunch of G-rated (and therefore ‘child-safe’) anime isn’t one of them. Continue reading “Good Family-Friendly Anime”
