One of the reasons I love anime so much is the sheer variety. Whether I’m in the mood for an epic fantasy, a dramatic space opera, or a just a good ol’ romantic comedy, I can usually find something I like. 5 Anime Kids I Don’t Want to Murder

By and large, young kids in anime annoy the hell out of me. Dealing with children in the real world? No problem, bring it on. But seeing small children in anime? Ugh, no thank you. I’m not talking about anime targeted towards the same age group, mind you – I have no issue with kids in titles like Doraemon, Youkai Watch, or Hamtaro. What I typically have a dislike for, however, are elementary school-aged characters in anime targeted at a wider audience… mostly because they act and sound nothing at all like their age. Sometimes it really feels like anime has more mascot characters than you can shake a stick at. Even discounting those shows that are basically made up of mascot-friendly characters like Pokemon and Digimon, it seems that a huge number of titles – old and new, comedic and serious alike – find the time to utilise cute animals or other forms of chirpy critters in all manner of ways.
